During her presentation, Ms. Handrich will discuss ways that temas comprised of special and general education tachers, parents, administrators, support staff and community resources can work together to meet student needs proactively and preventativley. Issues that are frequently of concern will be addressed, including the immportance of teacher match, instructional aide support, behavioral issues and instructional strategies that hightlight strengths. Practical, research-based programming suggestions that address student needs while capitalizing on strengths of a child will be discussed. Suggestions for utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to engineer comprehensive, seamless and efficient educational services for students with special needs will be the focus of the talk. Positive behavioral supports that address behavior in an affirmative pro-active educational manner will also be addressed.
