As schools have attempted to identify and meet the needs of studetns who are highly capable, certain populations continue to be under-represented in programs for the gifted. One such group includes indivuals who are gited and have a disability.. Preconceived notions of how disabilities affect cognition can negatively color expectations and prevent students from services that focus on their strengths. This seminar is designed to provide attendees with insights into the roadblocks that many students who are multi-exceptional face during their school career. Strategies that focus on student strengths while simultaneously addressing areas of need will be shared.
