Play affords children with opportunities to develop physical, social and cognitive abilities that will serve them well later in non-play situations. Participants of the workshop will learn, through lecture and discussion format, what current research has to say about the value of play, how play is the building block of language and literacy development and why play is vital to the development of self-regulation skills in young children.
